According to ministry of foreign affairs press release, Aziz conveyed Pakistan’s serious concerns regarding slaying of 23 FC personnel by Taliban inside Afghanistan to Afghan foreign minister Zarar Maqbool Osmani at the sidelines of SAARC Ministerial meeting in Male on Thursday.
Aziz urged the Afghan government to take prompt action against the perpetrator of this heinous act.
He reminded the Afghan minister that it was agreed by the Pakistan and Afghanistan at the Trilateral Summit in Ankara recently that both countries would not only prevent the use of their territory against each other but also take action against militants engaged in hostile action.
Osmani assured that he would convey Pakistan’s concern to the relevant authorities in Afghanistan and revert shortly.

@sterry: " Afghanistan is a lawless land with a degree of corruption and anarchy which is unrivalled " ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ now substitute Afghanistan with Pakistan. Very Valid.
@Nikki: Shabas,well said.
@Nikki:
I like this comment very much.From now I have added your name in my diary, Nikki.
@Nikki:
Yes, I have the same concern.But Pakistan is going to please India for nothing.
@Nikki:
" do not rule out India's hand".Nikki, it is you pointing out? I am sure your agnecies know it.
Pakistan should keep open its eyes. Who is pumping money in Afghanistan to supproty Pakistan's enemy should be the great concern of Pakistan.Also rais this point with Indian counerpart, do not rule out India's hand.Enviornment is alarming
@unbelievable: You look like a sick man, who rejoice slaughtering of prisoners. You also want to send this message that TTP has avenged the Afghan predicament. You must also believe then that TTP is funded by Afghanistan & its Allies present there in one form or the other.
This is exactly what Hillary clinton said "Snakes biting the feeding hand". Well the killers aka Taliban were given birth, reared and groomed by Pak army, but they have taken their own stand now.l
When you start meddling in the affairs of other nations, don't start crying foul when they do the same to yours - only they will do it much better. Every action elicits a reaction. Things will come back to normal if this little principle is adhered to.
" Afghanistan has no control over its internal state and its borders but this is another matter. Afghanistan is a lawless land with a degree of corruption and anarchy which is unrivalled but that does not mean Mr. Aziz should not speak to them."
That's cute coming from a Pakistani - the world's largest banana republic.
@sterry The Government of Pakistan does not have the legitamacy to use artillery force and areal bombardment in the autonomous region of Waziristan under the cover of terrorism, while at the same time making announcements for peace talks and sending emmissaries to pursue them. Your most respected adviser to the Prime Minister does not have any diplomatic credentials to convey Pakistan annoyance to Afghan government. Also I would'nt recommend Pakistan moving across the border based on its recent history.

afpak...never changes...!!
@Rex Minor:
Can you say that in English please ...?
@Sunil: they sure havre hand in it they are providing therm basis and money to operate, it's naive of your to say such a thing, if you are Pakistani or independent thinker.
thats the ugly side of conflicts there are people such as iranian regime and raw who are always using the fragility and introduce more chaos by influencing some of these groups
Pakistan should not forget that Afghanistan is the biggest victim here and had made many sacrifices.
What can poor war torn Afghanistan do that world's seventh largest military could not?
@Rex Minor: I disagree completely - Mr. Sartaj Aziz is a well respected and seasoned bureaucrat who represents Pakistan well. Afghanistan has no control over its internal state and its borders but this is another matter. Afghanistan is a lawless land with a degree of corruption and anarchy which is unrivalled but that does not mean Mr. Aziz should not speak to them. Yes nothing will come of it and for all we know, Afghanistan may have a part in this to further the designs of the Indian intelligence agencies who control that country. Pakistan should just move across the border to clear criminal sanctuaries in Afghanistan.
These killings were done by non-state actors...what can Afghanistan do which is the main victim of terrorism do?
And where is Imran Khan these days ... I cannot see even ripples in the water let alone any tsunamis or waves
This guy has gone nuts. Just to get blame off of the extremists he is blaming the Afghan government who have nothing to do with it.
look who is talking to who,both know they can't control taliban
While I have sympathy for Pakistan's position I suspect Afghanistan won't - remember Pakistan has provided de-facto sanctuary for the Haqqani for 12+ years and has ignored every Afghan diplomatic complaint.
