However, director general FIA Waseem Ahmad did not confirm the news, saying “I can assure you that the services of Sajjad Haider have not been dismissed so far.”
The FIA director was twice dismissed from his services in 2001 after a departmental inquiry proved him guilty in charges of corruption. Malik reappointed Haider as his senior staff officer last week, amid criticism by many government offices. The interior ministry is yet to confirm reports of Haider’s dismissal.
