Ghazi murder case: Court summons Musharraf on March 1
Additional District and Sessions Judge issued summoning notice to former military when case’s hearing resumed.
ISLAMABAD:
An additional sessions court has summoned former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on March 1 in the murder case of Ghazi Abdul Rasheed who was killed during the Lal Masjid operation in 2007. Additional District and Sessions Judge, Wajid Ali Khan issued the summoning notice to the former military when the case’s hearing resumed on Saturday. Musharraf’s legal counsel Ilyas Siddiqi, who had earlier represented the former president did not appear in court and a new lawyer, Advocate Akhtar Shah submitted his attorney. While submitting a fresh application, Shah requested the court to exempt Musharraf from personal appearance. Accepting the application, the court directed prosecution to submit a challan on the next date of hearing.
