Six nominated in Saturday killings

LAHORE: An FIR was registered on Sunday against six named and two unidentified men accused of killing four and injuring one late on Saturday night.

Amjad Iqbal, an investigation officer at the Harbanspura police station, said that the police were making raids for the arrest of the suspects – Rustam Khan, Ghulam Farid, Bhola, Majeed, Maqsood, Allah Rakha. He said that Rustam Khan had an old enmity with Shahid Khan, the injured.

Shahid Khan, who is under treatment at Services Hospital, said that he was  passing from the Lal pul when Rustam and his men assaulted him, killing his security guards and injuring him.

The investigation officer said that the two groups had an old feud over property issues. He said that one of Rustam Khan’s associates, Muslim Butt, a Mughalpura resident, had been shot dead allegedly by Shahid Khan’s men in 2008.

Butt’s murder, he said, could be a factor in the assault on Shahid Khan on Saturday night.

The FIR is registered under Sections 324/302, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act on Athar Mahmood’s complaint.
