Financial discipline: No misuse of funds, Pervaiz Rashid

Marvi Memon formed a sub-committee on the issue of journalists’ security.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid said on Friday the misuse of ministry’s budget had been stopped completely. The minister told the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, which met here at the Parliament House with Marvi Memon in the chair, that financial discipline was strictly being followed in the ministry. Not a single penny would be misused in the future, he added. Marvi Memon formed a sub-committee, headed by Naeema Kishwer, MNA, on the issue of journalists’ security and advised it to collect data about the killing incidents since January 2011. She also tasked it to ensure payment of compensation to murdered media persons as early as possible.
