Dilapidated condition: Traders decry poor condition of markets
Traders say CDA has not carried out maintenance work at these centres for the last many years.
Traders have asked the Capital Development Agency (CDA) to initiate maintenance and development work at major commercial centres in the capital city. Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khalid Chaudhry Senior Vice-President and representatives of various commercial centres discussed the deplorable condition of major markets in the capital. They said that the CDA has not carried out maintenance work at these centres for the last many years. This negligence has led to dilapidated markets, they said. Chaudhry urged CDA chairman to take stock of the issue and release necessary funds to upgrade these markets. He said that the CDA also needs to pay urgent attention to the improvement of water filtration plants at various sectors.
