Prevention of Electronic Crime bill 2014 almost ready: Anusha Rahman

The minister directed to upload the draft on Ministry’s official website for public information.

ISLAMABAD: Draft of Prevention of Electronic Crime bill 2014 has been prepared to counter cyber crimes, state minister for information technology and telecom Anusha Rahman said on Friday.

“We are going to table a comprehensive cyber crime bill before the cabinet, which has been prepared in consultation with all stakeholders over the last three yeas. International best practices have been taken in to consideration while drafting it”, said Rahman. The bill is expected to be tabled before the cabinet next week.

Chairing a meeting to review the final Draft of Prevention of E-Crimes Bill 2014 in Islamabad on Friday, Rahman said that there is a dire need to curb illegal and unauthorised access to information systems, and its abuse should be addressed under the Cyber Crimes Law in accordance with the International Best Practices.

Secretary IT Akhlaq A Tarrar, member telecom sector Yasir Qadir and representatives from Ministry of law, PTA, FIA and representative of ISPAK, PASHA and Barrister Zahid Jamil were also present in the meeting.

Rahman appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders, in particular the positive role of ISPAK & PASHA in finalizing of the draft.

The minister further directed to upload the draft on Ministry’s official website for public information.

0% implementation of law in Pakistan , just they waste our resources to create laws that protect their interests... If you have power and money You can buy Pakistani justice and law regardless of how big is your crime and if you are poor your negligible crime will lead to capital Punishment... May God Do some thing Very Big to make us Believe that he is only our God not that for whom we do every thing to get few bugs... Ameen
