A Turkish agency will support Benazir Income Support Programme’s (BISP) pilot project of Waseela-e-Rozgar to be launched in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, said a press release. Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Country Coordinator Mehmet Samil Emin during a meeting with BISP Chairman Enver Baig on Thursday said modalities for this cooperation will be discussed in future meetings between both the organisations.  Emin said his agency was exploring new avenues of cooperation with Pakistan and there seemed a great opportunity to invest in vocational training programmes.  BISP chief said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has envisioned empowering the youth to solve the problems of poverty and extremism. He said that demand-driven vocational and technical training programmes for the youth will help solve their problems. He said that the BISP has signed MoUs with trade bodies of Karachi and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
