MQM petition: SHC issues notices to federal govt, IG Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh High Court has issued notices to the federal government, inspector general Sindh and additional IG with regard to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) petition concerning the murder of Mohammed Salman.

The MQM had filed a petition with the court in pursuance of what it claimed was an extra-judicial murder of a party worker, Mohammed Salman, who was allegedly kidnapped on February 3 from Korangi, and his tortured body found in Shah Latif Town.

Apart from the federal government, IG Sindh and Additional IG Shahid Hayat, the interior ministry and SSP East Pir Mohammed Shah were named in the petition.

The court has ordered the respondents to present themselves in the court on Ferbuary 19.
