The chief justice of Pakistan has directed the National Accountability (NAB) chairman to hold an inquiry against former chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Zaka Ashraf on the complaint of Islam Khan, a senior vice president of the Zarai Traqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL).
Khan has filed complaint against recently sacked Zaka Ashraf from the post of PCB chairman, who also remained ZTBL chairman, in the Human Rights Cell and in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The chief justice directed the NAB for inquiry under complaint registered with HRC NO 31125 G 2013. This was stated by Islam Khan while talking about the inquiry on Tuesday. Earlier, the Supreme Court and NAB were requested to probe alleged corruption charges against Zaka Ashraf, former head of ZTBL and PCB. Islam Khan lodged the complaint, supported by documentary evidence, requesting investigations into foreign bank accounts, besides others.
According to the complainant, Zaka was only a matriculate and he got Islamabad Club membership showing himself as a graduate and his degree has been proved forged in the Islamabad High Court. The complainant alleged that Zaka was involved in corruption of billions of rupees and the matter should be investigated through the FIA and NAB.
