Marital problems: Two killed, one injured over family dispute

Tufail said his brother and sister were killed and he himself injured when his wife's hisband opened fire on them.

Two people were killed and another injured in a family dispute in Lal Kurti Bazaar of Nowshera district on Tuesday.

Tufail, speaking to the media from Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) in Peshawar, reported to the police that his sister was living at their house after a having a fight with her husband, Noor Taj.

He said that on Tuesday, he went with his brother, Faiz Muhammad, and sister to Taj’s house, where he had called them for reconciliation of the dispute.

Tufail added that as soon as they reached his house, Taj allegedly opened fire at them. As a result of the firing, his brother Faiz Muhammad and sister were killed on the spot, while he himself suffered injuries.

Tufail was initially shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera, but due to his critical condition, he was taken to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

Nowshera police has lodged an FIR against the accused and started an investigation into the matter.

The accused, however, managed to escape after the incident.
