Minting money: NAB starts inquiry into fake university

NAB deputy director says action to be taken against university's so-called VC Javed Cheema and university itself.

SIALKOT: The National Accountability Bureau on Monday started inquiry into a bogus university called The Islamic University and its vice chancellor who had made billions of rupees by issuing students fake undergraduate and graduate degrees. NAB deputy director said action would be taken against its so-called vice-chancellor Javed Cheema and the university itself. The Gujranwala Board chairman and Sialkot district monitoring officer had said that the university should have been sealed, but it was still function due to support from Sialkot Assistant Commissioner Mazhar Iqbal.
