LONDON: If you are looking for that perfect body than try out some "amazing superfoods" which will help provide nutrition. These superfoods when accompanied with a balanced diet provide many nutritional benefits.

"Superfoods" is a marketing term used to describe foods with supposed health benefits and Lovisa Nilsson, nutritionist at health brand Lifesum, shares some sought after items that come under the list, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Lingonberries: They help to keep your blood pressure low and decrease the risk of exposure to metabolic syndrome which leads to diseases like obesity and diabetes. Lingonberries also help in fighting infections and protect against chronic inflammations that cause heart disease and cancer. Finally, because they are rich in fibre they help the digestive system function, leading to a healthy and happy stomach.

Blueberries: They contain high levels of polyphenols, an antioxidant, that positively impacts the nervous system and brain function, helping to combat memory loss and enhance your mood. They are also high in antioxidants that help fight wrinkles.

Kale: Kale is low in calories, has zero fat and high levels of fibre, which helps to keep you full for longer. The lutein found in kale will keep your eyes healthy and the high levels of vitamin C will help support the immune system. If you are on a vegan or dairy-free diet, eating kale can increase your calcium intake.

Green tea: Green tea can hinder the development of tumour-spreading blood vessels and it also helps to deal with the effects of alcohol by repairing liver damage.

Avocados: Avocados are full of fibre, plant sterols, magnesium, folate, protein, potassium, vitamins B6, E and K.
