The government pledges: Swabi promised several development projects

Assembly speaker attends groundbreaking ceremony of Gaju Khan Medical College and Hospital.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has initiated several development projects across the province in the first nine months of its rule, said K-P Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar on Sunday.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of Gaju Khan Medical College and Hospital in Shah Mansoor, Swabi, Qaisar claimed the government will leave no stone unturned in efforts to make the college an exemplary organisation.

“The project will be carried out at a cost of Rs80 million,” announced Qaisar. He was accompanied by ministers Shaukat Ali Yousafzai and Shahram Tarakai as well as MNA Aqibullah Khan.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government had also started Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in Swabi and has allocated funds for the  setting up of a park on a 400-kanal area in Topi tehsil, shared the assembly speaker.

“We have also allocated Rs200 million for the construction of a sports complex in Swabi and will establish playgrounds in each tehsil of the district.”

At the occasion, he made pledges regarding a PAF Cadet College, the provision of electricity and gas to Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate, and the construction of Gadoon-Swabi Bypass.

“We have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with several foreign universities for establishing an education city in Swabi which will create 5,000 jobs.”

Yousafzai announced a grant of Rs35 million for DHQ hospital and Rs1.5 million for each basic health unit of the district to ensure free medicines to patients.
