In broad daylight: Jeweller’s house robbed of gold, cash

7 armed robbers were able to escape without any hindrance after robbing house in Faqirabad.

PESHAWAR: Armed robbers entered the house of local jeweller Haji Ghulam Khawaja on Saturday afternoon and stole 400 tolas of gold and Rs1.1 million cash. Seven armed men entered the house, located in Faqirabad, and after locking the residents inside a room, took away gold jewellery, cash, two wrist watches and two smartphones. The robbers were able to escape afterwards without any hindrance. Police reached the spot after being informed of the incident, registered an FIR and started the investigation. The armed robbery in broad daylight caused panic in the area as such incidents are becoming routine for the past several months, said neighbours.
