Shahzeb murder case: SHC rules to remove Sikander Jatoi's name from ECL

After Shahrukh Jatoi fled to Dubai, his father was arrested and his name was put on the ECL.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) ruled on Saturday to remove Sikander Jatoi's name from the Exit Control List (ECL), Express News reported.

Sikander Jatoi is the father of Shahrukh Jatoi, who was accused of murdering Shahzeb Khan. Under the Anti-terrorism Act, Shahrukh was sentenced to death but was later pardoned by the victim's family.

Following the murder, Shahrukh fled to Dubai and his father was arrested and his name was put under the ECL.

Now that Shahrukh is pardoned by the victim's family, Sikander, through the counsel of his lawyers requested the SHC to remove his name from the list.

Background

Shahzeb Khan, 20, was gunned down on the night of December 24, 2012. Shahzeb, son of DSP Aurangzeb Khan, was reportedly murdered after he had an altercation with one of the suspects’ servant who had allegedly misbehaved with the victim’s sister.

@Truth: What you are saying is wrong....they were given offers, none were taken, their father was profusely beaten to give in, threatened as well. Also in the Anti Terror court you cannot and I say CANNOT pardon people, you still get punished if convicted.

No good parents would ever take money for their sons death, would you ?

Sharukh stands convicted. As per your own newspaper, he just filed an appeal on 24th Jan 2014. What is he appealing against if he is not convicted?

There are no pardons in Anti Terrorist Courts.

Please stop misleading our not-so-discerning public.
