Unsafe working conditions: One dead, 3 injured in boiler explosion

Fire brigade, police and Rescue-1122 workers were called and they took injured to hospital.

LAHORE: A labourer died and three others were injured in a boiler explosion at a factory in Baghbanpura on Friday. Police and Rescue-1122 workers said that Muhammad Ilyas, 22, a resident of Bahawalnagar, Arshad, Altaf and Qasim were working next to a boiler at a factory on Mominpura GT Road, when it suddenly exploded, injuring Ilyas, Arshad, Qasim and Altaf. They were taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced Ilyas dead. Doctors said the other three were in a critical condition. The Fire Brigade, police and Rescue-1122 workers were called and they took the injured to a hospital. Police took the dead body to a mortuary but had not registered a case till the filing of this report. The police duty officer said they had not received a complaint.
