Misuse of power: 7 cops arrested over illegal detention
Petitioner says police detained his son, beat him and demanded that he bribe them if he wanted them to release his son

A case has been registered against seven police officials on charge of taking bribe from a citizen, a police spokesman said on Thursday. He said the case was registered on the petition filed by Riaz Ahmad, a resident of Razabad, who said that Tariqabad CIA Sub Inspector Bashir Ahmad, Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Rafi and five constables forced into his house and arrested his 18-year-old son Fayyaz Ahmad. He said the police did not have a reason of a warrant to arrest his son. He said they detained his son and beat him and demanded that he bribe them if he wanted them to release his son. The court had ordered Razabad police to register case against the accused policemen and ordered an inquiry.
