The Queen has spoken — If you have the tiara, wear it!

Her Royal Highness passes diktat for the Duchess’ new look.

There may be no royal road to learning, but Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has effortlessly embraced her royal role. In fact, with her humble background and $72 dresses, she has added her own, more relatable flavour, to the public image of the centuries-old monarchy.

But it seems that Queen Elizabeth II isn’t too happy with her mainstream sense of style, and wants Kate to be more high-end than high-street. According to Huffington Post and the Daily Mail, Kate will be undergoing a “subtle, but significant regal makeover” for forthcoming trip to Australia this spring.

The Queen has asked the Duchess to rethink her wardrobe choices and has offered the services of her personal dresser, Angela Kelly to work with Kate’s stylists on a new look.

With designs by Alexander McQueen and Alice Temperley being prepared for her upcoming trip, Kate is expected to wear couture day dresses and gowns with lower hemlines to make her look more regal, and is expected to be changing her attire up to four times a day.

The longer hemlines will undoubtedly help avoid a faux-pas like the one that occurred on Kate’s arrival in Calgary, Canada in 2011. A gust caught the hemline of her yellow Jenny Packham dress, causing an unfortunate flashing incident. A similar happening occurred when Kate arrived at a children’s charity event in November last year.

To enhance her royal image, she will also be wearing the Queen’s favourite tiaras and jewels. “Angela has been asked to start selecting jewels ahead of the trip. She knows most of the pieces in the Queen’s private collection,” said a Buckingham Palace source. “This trip is about Kate appearing more royal than ever. You can expect to see a lot more tiaras and the Queen will be watching closely.”

On Princess Diana’s visit to Melbourne in 1988, she wore an off-shoulder glimmering turquoise gown with a strap of art-deco emeralds worn as a bandeau around her forehead, according to the Daily Mail. Let’s see what looks our dear Duchess will don for the Aussies.

Jenny Packham is anything but high street clothing. Also, Kate's dresses are usually about knee-length anyway. This is completely ridiculous. I'm not the biggest fan of Kate's usual wardrobe (it's sometimes a bit dowdy) but she certainly has a fresher, more modern approach than most other royals and she still manages to look classy and sophisticated. This will only make her appear more over-the-top and well, dowdy...

I think it's fabulous, Queen nailed it, I agree with the Queen, the Duchess should yes, wear tiaras and costumes according to your position I am tired of see,Kate, being criticized by dresses but we should not only pay attention to the their visual, but also for his work with the prince William
