4 dead, dozens injured from twin blasts inside Peshawar cinema

PESHAWAR:
Two explosions inside the cinema hall of Peshawar's Picture House Cinema killed at least four people while injuring around 30, Express News reported on Sunday.
Casualties are expected to rise further.
Picture House Cinema is located on Cinema Road near Qissa Khwani Bazaar, and was the target of a low intensity blast last year as well.
Express News correspondent Faizan Hussain reported that Sunday evening's blasts occurred during the screening of 'Ziddi Pakhtun'.
According to police, two hand grenades of Chinese make were used for the attack. The grenades were hurled at the front and back rows of the cinema hall, which had at least a hundred people inside it.
The cinema has now been vacated and cordoned off with the Bomb Disposal Squad on its way.
The injured have been transferred to Lady Reading Hospital.
Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Information Minister Shah Farman told Express News that the cinema owners had been alerted against security threats after previous attacks.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has asked authorities for a report over the incident.
