His statement comes in response to TTP’s Saturday announcement of a prospective list of leaders they wanted on their dialogue committee.
Chaudhry added that the Taliban must consider that Imran Khan is a national politician and cannot actively participate in such a negotiation from their side.
He further stated that the negotiation process must not proceed without consultation with the army and agencies.
The five members of the Taliban’s proposed committee included PTI chief MNA Imran Khan, Jamiat Ulema Islam-Samiul Haq group (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq, Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal’s (JUI-F) Mufti Kifayatullah, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) provincial chief Professor Mohammad Ibrahim, and the former cleric of Lal Masjid Maulana Abdul Aziz.
Earlier PTI Chairman Imran Khan had distanced himself from the committee stating that the TTP should select their own representatives for talks.
