Police encounter: Four militants killed in Swabi firefight

Huge cache of explosives were recovered during a police encounter with the militants in Swabi on Saturday morning.

Four suspected militants were killed and a huge cache of explosives were recovered during a police encounter with the militants in Swabi on Saturday morning.


Talking to The Express Tribune, DSP Rajar Inayat Ali Shah said that the police were tipped off about the presence of militants taking refuge in the Boys Primary School Shagolay village. DSP Shah, along with squads from different police stations, drew up a strategy for the raid.


The exchange of fire continued later till eight in the morning. The police barged into the school building, killing four militants. Their bodies were later shifted to the Kalu Khan police station.


Meanwhile, 41 sticks of dynamite along with three 9 mm pistols and one 30-bore pistol were recovered from the militants.


Since no one claimed the bodies, the TMA Kalu Khan buried them in the local graveyard.
