One-Year Term: PBC elects new vice chairman
Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry won the election for the post of vice chairman of PBC for a one-year term.
ISLAMABAD:
Asma Jahangir Group’s candidate Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry won the election for the post of vice chairman of Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) for a one-year term. According to details, out of 19 votes, Ramzam Chaudhry got 11 votes and his opponent Zia Ahmed Awan, the candidate of Hamid Khan’s group, had to settle for 8 votes. Chaudhry has previously served as the judge of Islamabad High Court, later he was removed through Supreme Court’s July 31, 2009, judgment along with more than 100 other judges. Talking to media, newly elected PBC vice chairman said that the bar council would monitor the appointment process of superior courts.
