A four-day olympiad kicked-off at the Roots Millenium School’s I-9/3 campus on Friday, said a press release.
The event features several competitions such as live art, debating, dramatics, chess, table tennis, wall climbing, photo essay, fashion, filmmaking, singing, law-moot court, creative writing and dance. Over 1,500 students are participating from over 100 schools.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the Ambassador of Denmark Jesper Moller Sorensen and RMS Director Anna Faisal.
Ambassador Sorensen while speaking as chief guest appreciated the initiative and encouraged the youth to become agents of change through engaging in constructive activities at national and international forums.
The schools’ Chief Executive Officer Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq also emphasized the need for students’ engagement in co-curricular activities for their holistic development.
“The standard of the “Moot Court” exceeded my expectations. I was amazed to see how critically students analyze situations and pick facts which even the most practiced lawyers would overlook”, stated a judge.
The competitions were followed by entertainment, including “Night in Paris” a dinner and a fashion show on the western and eastern themes.
The event was judged by known names in the fashion industry. The participants dressed in costumes represented the eastern and western theme walking on the ramp.
“They all have such self-confidence that it is an absolute delight to shoot them” said a photographer capturing images of the fashion show.
“The MO is entertaining and engaging for students” said a faculty adviser.
