Sex crime: Five-year-old raped

Separately in Joharabad, neighbour accused of raping a class six student.

A five-year-old was reported to have been raped on Wednesday, police said.

They said the girl, a resident of Chak 112-DB near Yazman, was playing outside her house, when the suspect, nominated by her father, kidnapped her. He took her to the cattle barn and raped her.

Some people heard the child scream and went to investigate. They tried to catch the suspect, but he fled.

Police said the child’s father also arrived on the spot. She was taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital, where doctors treating her said that she was out of danger. Doctors told police that the girl had been raped. They said chemical samples had also been sent to Lahore for a more detailed examination.

Talking to The Express Tribune, the child’s father appealed to the regional police officer and the chief minister to take notice of the incident. An FIR has been registered with the girl’s father as the complainant.

Separately in Joharabad’s Chak 59-MB, a 13-year-old girl was reported to have been raped.

Police said the girl was returning to school after spending the lunch break at home when the suspect, nominated in the FIR, kidnapped her and raped her in an abandoned house.

The girl’s family said the suspect was from the same neighbourhood. Saddar police said they were investigating the case.
