Model-actor Preeti Desai is going steady with actor beau Abhay Deol and the two are all set to make their fans ‘aww’ in their upcoming rom-com One By Two.

Desai, who made her Bollywood debut with Shor in the City, is pragmatic in her approach towards her relationship. She acknowledges the professional requirement for actors to do intimate scenes if need be and doesn’t feel insecure when Deol romances female actors in films, according to the Times of India.

“Maybe if I wasn’t an actor and if I hadn’t done that, I would have been insecure. But since I have done an intimate scene in my first film, I know it is part of the job,” said Preeti.

The level-headed diva shared that she is not jealous of her contemporaries in the film industry. “I think it is nice to admire other people. Why would you get jealous,” she said.

With contrasting personalities, Preeti is the ‘yin’ and Abhay is the ‘yang’ in the relationship. “We are both different individuals and have our own taste, so we don’t always agree on things. We discuss things, but at the end of the day, I always make my own choices,” Preeti stated.

Abhay has generally been perceived as arrogant in the industry, but Preeti clarified that the actor is simply “reserved and private,” which may be misinterpreted as such. “People judge him from the outside, but when they get to know him, they develop a different perception about him.”

On the question of marriage, Preeti said that she herself getting married in the near future. “I feel like I am just starting off with this right now. I want to achieve so much. Abhay and I are happy and secure with each other. Marriage is a full-time job and I need to be ready for that part of my life, but right now, I just want to do good work,” she said.

With One By Two slated to release on January 31, Preeti shared what she expects from the film and what it was like to be paired with her real-life boyfriend on the screen. “I think one can’t presume how it is going to be... I went with the flow. Initially, Abhay was just producing [the film] and then he came on board as an actor. From day one, we decided to keep this professional because at the end of the day, it’s a big thing to make a movie,” she said.

She looks up to Abhay, who has received praise for his acting skills. Interestingly, she was initially intimidated to work with him. “I was nervous when we did the first shot together. I wanted to impress him, I wanted his approval. But once I switched into the character, [I was fine].”

We eagerly wait to see how the lovebirds’ chemistry translates on the screen.
