The former military ruler's medical report was also sent to both hospitals.
Musharraf faces treason charges under Article 6 for suspending, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts.
The 70-year-old had fallen ill and was taken to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology in Rawalpindi on January 2 as he was being transported under heavy guard to the court and is continuing his treatment there. Musharraf has been at AFIC for over three weeks now.
It was reported on January 24 that Musharraf is unwilling to undergo angiography in Pakistan and wishes to go abroad for treatment as the cardiac support system in the country is not up to standard.
The report, which Express News had obtained, had stated that the former president should get an angiography as soon as possible.
It had added that Musharraf’s health is such that a heart attack could be “life-threatening”.
On January 16, Musharraf's US-based doctor, Dr Arjumand Hashmi – after reviewing the former president’s medical reports – had recommended that the former military ruler should be immediately sent abroad for treatment.
Another hurdle
Earlier today, advocate-on-record Zafar Abbas Naqvi sent a legal notice to Musharraf for not paying his legal fees.
Naqvi has registered four cases in the Supreme Court on Musharraf’s behalf, all of them related to the November, 2007 emergency.
He said that he was paid only Rs47,000, adding that he sent a legal notice to the former military ruler but no progress was made.
“I can also take the cases back if I am not paid,” he warned.

@Mirza: Do you know? You can't visit or start a conversation with a heart patient even if you are his relative and allowed at his bedside! I have seen many patients' health deteriorated soon after his/her dear guest leave the hospital. What do you say about that? I guess you did not have a chance to see or know any such patients, do you? It's not about Mush exactly, instead about the future of Pak Brass getting upset about political crises in the country and taking extreme measures. Forget about Mush or Judiciary or National Corruption. It's all about who ever has the chance to get back at someone. Brave Mush was just Walked into the Trap.
@glean keen: "every one has their right to seek medical advice/care of their choice!"
Unless of course, that "everyone" is under house arrest for treason facing court proceedings.
would the 'prime' minister go to a 'government hospital' if He is ill?
every one has their right to seek medical advice/care of their choice! its very stupid and brain less of any one to say 'why doesn't A retired gen trusts an army hospital'! would the prime minister get Him self treated in a 'government hospital' if He gets ill?? there are so many people not just him, who go to other countries for treatments.. even those who aren't preveliged go.... the shame full limit to which country has gone..is insane! what the country had in past five years....you call that democracy? was it any thing offering 'social equality'? and does the' prime' minister go on visits on his own resources?
I am so sorry for Musharraf. It is pity how his claims of bravery is being exposed. His lawers are hysterical threateneing journalists and prosecution(Tangain cheer doon ga) . He is calling army to intervene instead of facing the trial. What a shame and cowardice. We always knew. I thought only NS was coward facing lonely Attock jail he gave in. But this genral is caving in while living in nluxury. Worst than NS. .
Those who never stop talking about the progress Pakistan has made during Mush's rule can see that he himself does not believe that the best military hospital for heart is not good enough even for a diagnostic test? The court should force an angiography and prove that there is nothing wrong with his heart. That is why he is good enough to rush to farthest possible place from Pakistan. Patients in critical condition do not fly out of the ICU of cardiology to the US. He is so weak and sick not to be able to attend the court even for a few minutes. Like most ex-dictators Mush would live long enough without having any serious ailment. Those who give heart attacks never have themselves.
Go Musharaf go!
Pak Nation - shame proof
Past, Current and Future rulers of Pakistan - - Maha Shame proof (Sharif''s, Mush, Zardari, Balawal, Chaudhary's, Maulana D's, Altaf, etc.)
Future - Misery for the whole nation.
My Dear Paki's - Keep on sleeping and enjoy the Misery
One of the Brave Generals of Pakistan...
Sir Musharraf is the real elite rest are all fake.
@Pervez
In Sir Pervez Musharraf case another elite is Nawaz?
Sir Musharraf you are just like us common man as justice for you is increasingly become expensive, your intellect, persona and integrity aside because your enemy has enormous money.... I pray for you... I know you are extraordinary, you will come out successful with the help of Allah. insha' Allah Amin.
Based on his life, bollywood can make a comedy film....
WELCOME TO MY WORLD - you go to the local hospital and use the local doctors because that's the only thing you can either afford or have available. Your money or former job shouldn't give you rights that allow you to circumvent the terms of your bail. BTW heart conditions are common and these days a bi-pass operation is routine - you only stay in the hospital a few days - surely your wealth would allow you to fly in your American heart specialist if you don't trust Pakistani health care.
It is not clear from this news item that which establishment is contacting US hospitals for Musharraf's further treatment. It cannot be civilian govt but appears to be military who is keen to bail out their former General from facing treason trial. No wonder, the General who being defended by the invisible military free of cost does not require the services of his lawyers who can be dumped conveniently without paying them the full payment as they are not the one who got him the freedom.
Credit for the country's civilians. At least they have the bravery for face the courts, not these commandos who are actually mice in disguise of men.
Keep watching there is power struggle on going with army and Government,, Who will win that is the ultimate question..
@Shoaib:
In Suadia we hear every now and then a Pakistani is beheaded for smuggling drugs. Does it stopped drug smuggling. No. If the political dictators genuinely feel that they are people servant and work for the betterment of the country and its people then the miltary will continue take overs.
@Shoaib: This whole drama is for making "Just that Point"! Did'nt you see how the the top brass was sitting in a humble row in last prime ministrial meeting four days ago?
What is the big deal by asking 2 hospitals in the US for his treatment, if bills are guaranteed to be paid to the hospital , any hospital in the US will be glad to do the treatment and paid for it. The big question arises, who is going to foot the bill, is it the Pakistani tax payers who were subjected to some very undemocratic and harsh treatment by this dictator. And why should the government of Pakistan pay any thing for his treatment abroad while there are some very competent cardiologist who are available in Pakistan. They can't hoodwink the people, they know and we know that the General consider himself above the law and will run away from the country and will never come back to face the court till another General takes over in the future, rest assure if he circumvents the laws of the land this time, there will be another Army General taking over, they have made the Supreme Court of Pakistan and it's justices irrelevant.
@Shoaib: I doubt the latter part of your assertion. If his accomplices are not made an example of, the next dictator will first strike down Article 6, and will never don his uniform. The Court and a hand picked parliament will gladly and immediately give indemnity by following the precedence being set today. They would know no harm would come to them. They would just reap the fruits of the dictatorship.

Cool down, he will fight back and jackals will run back in woods, visibly or invisibly.
There is something better and more advanced called "angio scanner". This gives a much better image of thorax.
LOL
But Why not in Pakistan???
What a shameful exit this is going to be........he will leave as a disgraced man. Well in the eyes of many that in itself is punishment enough.
Don't worry General, Lion sometimes get trapped among the Jackals! Get Well soon and retaliate... No Surrender.
.....one of the elite getting a taste of what ' man on the street ' suffers ....from another elite. Now that's natural justice.
