Daily Telegraph issues Younus apology

LAHORE: Britain’s Daily Telegraph has “admitted their mistake” for involving Younus Khan’s name with Mazhar Majeed in one of their reports, according to Younus’ lawyer.

“They’ve admitted their mistake and made a correction where they incorrectly attributed Majeed as Younus’ agent,” Ahmed Qayyum told The Express Tribune. “Younus was never linked with or had any contract with Mazhar or his brother Azhar.”

A legal notice was sent to the newspaper demanding an apology for tarnishing the image and publish a denial and pay damages of $10,000 to a charity towards the flood-relief fund.

The newspaper confirmed to The Express Tribune that Younus’ name was taken out of the story  but failed to confirm whether an apology was issued or not.
