Lady Wellington Hospital : ‘No plan to shift hospital ’
Rafique said the project would cost about Rs2 billion.
LAHORE:
Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique said on Thursday that there was no plan to shift Lady Wellingdon Hospital to Badami Bagh. Earlier, the chief minister had said that a state-of-the-art 300-bed gynae and obstetrics hospital would be constructed at the OPD site of the Lady Wellingdon Hospital. Rafique said only the building of the OPD site would be demolished. Rafique said the Lady Willingdon Hospital needed modern medical facilities. He said the new hospital would be equipped with the latest bio-medical machinery and would not only cater to people in Lahore but also provide medical facilities to other areas. Rafique said the project would cost about Rs2 billion. He said some groups were spreading baseless rumours, regarding the shifting of Lady Willingdon Hospital. The building would be completed in a year.
