Wapda defeat Muslim FC 1-0 in PPFL

Four-time champions strengthen third position in league.

KARACHI: Wapda defeated Muslim FC 1-0 in their Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match at the Faisal Town Ground in Lahore on Thursday.

Muslim FC held Wapda in a goalless first half; however, the home team registered their 15th win of the season when striker Arif Mehmood scored the winner in the 69th minute of the match.

With the win, Wapda remain in the third place with 56 points. After playing 27 matches Thursday, they are now left with three more fixtures in the season. They have lost only one match and drawn 11 so far.

According to KRL coach Tariq Lutfi, Wapda and KESC remain the top opponents for the defending champions and termed the former team the likeliest to give them a tough time.
