PESHAWAR:

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has initiated open katcheries to promptly address complaints by power consumers.

Upon the directives of Pesco Chief Executive Tariq Sadozai, open katcheries are being held by Pesco field teams throughout Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, according to Pesco spokesperson Shaukat Afzal on Wednesday.

In this connection, two open katcheries were held under the supervision of Pesco officials at Chamkani subdivision, added Afzal, before claiming that “political and social circles have hailed the arrangement of these katcheries and extended support and cooperation to Pesco staff”.

The spokesperson revealed that a katchery was held at the hujra of Zakaullah where, amid the presence of Pesco Board of Directors Member Nasir Khan Musazai, a large number of people showed up. “Consumers problems were heard, discussed and solved on the spot,” said Afzal.

He added that 64 electricity bills amounting to Rs1.7 million were corrected and delivered back to the consumers for payment.
