KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPAs have tabled a resolution in the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday demanding the government provide protection to polio workers. Dr Samar Ali Khan, Dr Seema Zia and Khuram Sher Zaman were among the party members who submitted the resolution. “The issuance of birth certificates should be conditional,” the MPAs said in the resolution. “The certificate should only be issued to those children who have been given polio vaccinations.” Later, speaking to the media, they said that the provincial government should step down and accept their failure in providing protection to police and citizens.

For all the PTV programmes, 23 March parades and songs dedicated to them, not to mention the huge chunk of the national budget, it is time Pakistanis realised that the military has failed to protect them and is not what it is cracked up to be.
