Election preparation: 107 polling stations declared sensitive

27 of the polling stations of the constituency were declared most sensitive while 80 were said to be sensitive.

HARIPUR: The authorities on Tuesday declared 107 of the 116 polling stations of PK-50 as sensitive. They said that the Elite Force and Anti-Terrorism Squad will be deployed at the stations while army troops will remain available on call.

According to ASP Wahid Mehmood, they received intelligence reports and felt the tension between the candidates’ supporters could cause some trouble. 27 of the polling stations of the constituency were declared most sensitive while 80 were said to be sensitive.

He said that in order to ensure there were no problems, over 1,000 men of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Elite Force and police would be on duty. Mehmood added that this was a precautionary measure being taken by the administration. The administration has made 17 points across the constituency where Elite Force and ATS will be present.
