MUZAFFARABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said, “If we want economic progress, we will have to open trade routes between South Asian and Central Asian states through Pakistan. The minister was addressing a function to highlight the salient features of 2025 programme. He said energy was the basic requirement for economic stability and the government has worked out a plan to generate more energy to usher development and prosperity. Iqbal said hiring without merit in the government sector is the main reason for its poor performance. “Dozens of development projects initiated by former governments exist only on paper, in the files of the Planning Commission. The incompetency of the two previous regimes has worsened the crises the country is facing,” Iqbal revealed.
