Remote detonation: Blast injures two pro-govt militiamen

Injured rushed to hospital in Peshawar.

BARA: Two members of a pro-government militia were injured on Monday when a bomb exploded outside their office in Malikdin Khel area of Bara, Khyber Agency. Bara Assistant Political Agent Nasir Khan said unidentified militants planted a high-intensity bomb outside the office of Malikdin Khel militia in Zawa area and detonated it through a remote-controlled device, destroying the office building and injuring two militia members. He said the explosion occurred at around 2:30pm, adding the injured were rushed to a hospital in Peshawar. Khan said a search operation was launched in the surrounding areas by militia members following the blast, adding the bomb might have been planted in the early hours of Monday and detonated when capacity was thought to have been maximum inside the building.
