Timely action: 8kg bomb defused in Jamrud

Political administration official Ali Sher says a search operation to catch the culprits is under way.

JAMRUD: An improvised explosive device (IED) weighing eight kilogrammes was defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS) in Ghundai area of Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency on Sunday. Political administration official Ali Sher said they were informed by residents of a suspicious canister lying along the roadside in Malik Shaga, following which Frontier Constabulary and BDS officials rushed to the site and successfully defused the device. Sher added a search operation to catch the culprits is under way, but no arrests were made till this report was filed.
