Fake passport: FIA deports lovelorn Indian girl to Muscat

LAHORE:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) deported an Indian woman on Friday hours after she arrived at Lahore airport on forged documents to meet a Pakistani man.

The 20-year-old Nikita Kamlesh, a resident of the Indian state of Gujarat, had arrived in Pakistan from Muscat.

She was travelling on forged documents, as she wanted to meet Muhammad Azhar of Lodhran district, Punjab.

The girl was passing herself off as Nimra Akram. However, she was detected by the FIA Assistant Director Immigration Abu Zar Sabtain and Inspector Adeel Abbas, who noticed the difference between the face of Nikita and the picture on a Pakistani passport.

The FIA officials also interviewed Muhammad Azhar, who had come to the airport to receive her, before allowing him to return to his native town.

Azhar informed the FIA immigration officials that Nikita Kamlesh was Hindu. However, before their telephonic marriage, she had accepted Islam and her Muslim name was Eman.

Azhar revealed that he had also visited the UAE as Nikita’s parents were settled in Sharjah for about a decade. He said they had approached the UAE court for the purpose of court/paper marriage but the UAE  court had rejected their request arguing that court marriage could not be solemnised until the girl reached the age of 23.

Nikita Kamlesh told the FIA immigration officials that she had fallen in love with Azhar after interacting with him on a social networking website. She also claimed that she had converted to Islam.
