JAMRUD: A jirga of the Kokikhel tribe was held on Friday morning in Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency to form committees for eliminating corruption from the “qaumi jirga”. A large number of tribesmen and tribal elders from all six Kokikhel sub-tribes participated in the jirga. Kokikhel chief Malik Faizullah Jan, while addressing participants, said the committees, which include representatives of all the tribes, were formed to remove corruption and dishonesty from the tribal jirga and ensure equal justice. Jan said the committees would solve all outstanding issues in one month. He said that earlier due to malpractices and delaying tactics of the jirga, many petty issues turned into fatal enmities. Jan further said each committee from every tribe would comprise 20 people who will help resolve all issues through mutual understanding.
