Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi’s four-year-old son was diagnosed with first-stage cancer, Times of India (TOI) reported on Wednesday.

Speaking to TOI, Hashmi’s uncle and famed Bollywood personality Mahesh Bhatt said Hashmi called him from Hinduja Hospital where his son Ayan was diagnosed with a tumour in his kidney.

“The doctor had suggested immediate surgical intervention after which the road map for the future would be decided and that would probably mean chemotherapy,” TOI quoted Bhatt as saying.

Bhatt added that Hashmi called him again and said “the bone marrow scan says it is clear, so it is first-stage cancer and thus curable.”

The uncle assured that Hashmi “will do all his professional jobs with the same professional commitment without anything or anybody being affected with minor readjustments.”

This is the worst news for a parent. My best wishes and prayers for the young son and family. Let us hope that the cancer in its initial stage is removed and the chemo would take care of him. I am sure people of all faiths would be praying and wishing for his complete recovery.
