According to a schedule posted on the page, it listed release in 23 cinemas in the UK including in 12 Cineworld cinemas, 10 Odeon Cinemas and one VUE Cinema.
The movie will be exhibited in London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Bolton, Bradford, Sheffield, Leicester, Leeds, Glasgow, Coventry, Stoke-on-Trent, Cardiff, High Wycombe and West Bromwich.
The film, directed by Bilal Lashari, had a record breaking run in Pakistan before an anticipated release in Dubai, on December 12, 2013.
The film had grossed Rs230 million on the domestic circuit since its release on Eidul Azha.
There has also been some speculation about the film’s release in India. Bilal Lashari said, “I have not approached anyone specifically for distribution in India.” Given the theme of the film and the perception that ‘Waar shows India as cause of nation’s problems’, the director says, “I have no idea how people will react, but it would be great if it ends up being screened. A lot of people are saying it’s never going to happen.”
The movie was released on 42 screens across Pakistan and beat the box office record for an opening day take of Rs11.4 million.
It is an action/thriller and drama film, written by Hassan Waqas Rana and stars Pakistan’s actors, Shaan Shahid and Shamoon Abbasi. The storyline has been inspired by the war on terror in Pakistan and its effects on the world, but with a stylised interpretation of it.

Hi,
WAAR is also showing in Luton, UK from 24th January. Suprised it was missed off initially for release on 17th. It seems the film has fared very well in UK.
@LALA jee..wow man wow..salute to your intellect. Avatar made 2.8$ billion dollars (AROUND $2800 MILLION)..total collections of Dhoom 3 till jan 10 is INR273 crore..which is roughly around $44.3 million dollars.
a movie like the dark knight rises was made at a budget of 130$ million approximately..
Please research before you post.
finally! in uk... all my friends will watch it here in manchesterrrrr... so excited!
It is really unfair of Indians to bash Pakistani first attempt. A couple of years ago Pakistani films were few. There had been a new wave so give it a chance. Bollywood had had many advantages these churn out many films as fast ad they are forgotten. I don't think Hollywood is scared of Bollywood, I think they wonder the necessity of Bollywood to produce in quantity & skip real quality?
Very disappointed to say this but the biggest film to come out of Pakistani cinema in recent years has been very poorly promoted here in UK by Ary. In fact the promotion has been zero. This means that a lot of people are going to miss this brilliant movie. Still can't believe what promoted Hasan Waqas Rana to ask to do the release here in UK. Ary are a bunch of jokers. When a 10 year old kid do a better job. I will be surprised if Waar breaks collection figures of Bol here in UK. Bol did business of £200,000 after just 3 weeks but Bol was released by Eros. One had the producer saying that a number of distributors overseas were interested in releasing Waar. What happened? Also why the heck was the film made in English when even overseas it's going to be the Pakistanis who are going to watch it. A premiere could not be even organised where the atleast the British media could have been invited. A huge opportunity missed overall. Very disappointed.
Ahhh... finally wait is over, the last non Hollywood movie I watched in UK cinema was Muammar Rana's Ye Dil Aap Ka Huwa
I am so going to watch it :-) Already booked time off work for it.
@naeem khan: Then why did you bother to come to movie's news and comment?
@All Indian commentators:
Please don't start comparing this humble Pakistani movie with your great Dhoom 3. We already know that Dhoom 3 is the greatest movie of all times (read all the comments from page 1 to 3 to give you an idea of its greatness) beating the record for earnings of 'Avatar' (mere US$ 2,782 million) and 'Gone with the Wind' (only US$ 3,301 million).
Hey think now for next five years we will have to watch this films...please atleast make 10 films if not 100's like bolly and holly.................
who will watch this rubbish only Pakistanis
Looking forward to it. For the first time I'll be watching a non-Hollywood film in cinema.
