Ibrahim leads Peshawar to win

Hosts beat Karachi White by five wickets in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.

KARACHI: Mehran Ibrahim scored an unbeaten ton to help hosts Peshawar beat the Karachi Whites by five wickets in their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Super-Eight match.

Set a target of 211 runs, Peshawar eased off to 214 for five in 64.4 overs courtesy Ibrahim, who remained unbeaten on 101 off 132 balls, hitting 13 boundaries in the process. Meanwhile, Gohar Ali contributed 64 to the cause with a six and 11 boundaries to his credit.

Babar Rehman picked up a five-wicket haul in the lost battle as Peshawar claimed six points for a remarkable victory after they had earlier conceded a first-innings lead.

Earlier in the day, the Whites were dismissed for 179 after resuming on 173 for eight. Taj added five more scalps to his first-inning tally of six wickets.

With this win, Peshawar are now on level with the Whites in Group A after gaining nine points from two matches.
