Indian troops again violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday, injuring a 55-year-old civilian in Tatapani sector, some 180 kilometres from Muzaffarabad, local residents and the administration told The Express Tribune.
According to details, Indian soldiers opened indiscriminate fire on the civilian population of Radkhathar village in the union council of Goyai, close to the LoC around 4:00 pm in the evening. An elderly villager, Mahmood Khan, was injured in the firing. He was sitting in the front yard, when he received bullet wounds, sources said.
The injured was rushed to the district headquarters hospital Kotli where he is currently under treatment; doctors said his condition is stable.
The unprovoked firing by the Indian troops in the Tatapani sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has sparked panic among residents, who have mostly remained indoors since the incident.
In retaliation, Pakistan Army personnel also retaliated to the Indian firing, forcing them to stop the shelling on the civilian population.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed and Leader of the Opposition Raja Farooq Haider Khan condemned the ceasefire violation along the LoC and termed the incident counterproductive for regional peace and security.

@Indian: Appreciated............that was a mature comment.
@SHB: please GET OUT.
@Guru: First keep your answer to the concerned news. Second keep your nose out of Pakistani affairs. Thanks. You may like to spend time and money for your own country problems which ever country you belong to.
@Bakhtiyar Ghazi Khan: HA HA, What about your soldiers torturing and killing in balochistan on innocents ?
Indian terrorists killing Kashmiri civilians on both sides of border. Shame on these animals. When they die, they will be in the lowest Hellfire.
I recall the event of 1949, when Indians came to Karachi to beg for Kashmir, when LOC was going to be established, then miles and miles of unoccupied territory of Gurez (Neelum Valley) where there was not even a trace of Indian army was awarded to India just on the basis of the resolution that Kashmir future was to be decided on the basis of decision of Kashmiris. Pakistan willingly agree to it since Pakistan knows that Kashmiris at any time will favor Pakistan, India cunningly strengthens its forces in Kashmir and now killing Pakistani civilians. Shameless Country it is. Can go to any length for occupying territories of neighbors like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and China. INDIANS LEAVE KASHMIR >GO BACK >GO BACK
@Beant Singh: "Indian troops in dense fog noticed some movement on sensors and they suspected Pakistani militant infiltration and hence they fired a few rounds, injuring the Pakistani civilian with a bullet wound on his hand."
Isn't it a strange story reported by the Indian newspapers? Although your forces were unable to identify the "alleged infiltraters" if they were ordinary villagers or militants due to dense fog but they were able to confirm that the bullets fired by them wounded the hand of a Pakistani civilian. This is simply shameful.
@Shah: You also thought that Kargil was not carried out by Pakistan. Ask the Commando for more info.
@Shah: Did you ever think you carried Kargil? Ask the Commando for more info.
@Indian: We are better off living with out India. We do not want to live as Muslim minority in majority Hindu India. Thanks for your offer.
Hello all Pakistani friends!! This is my first comment to your site. First of all trust is everything..if you trust me than I will tell you one thing. That please don't believe this kind of news. In India we always hear that such incident is create by your troops. So rather than creating problem we people of both country can unite and solve the problem...
@Shah: And we thought how much time will it take before pakistan army to once again begin their routine task.
Whenever there is a thaw in relations or dialogue resumption is in progress all of a sudden violations start taking place. There is an expected progress in trade ties next week. Looks like armies of both countries don't want both nations to live in peace.
Same old, same old. I do not want to waste my time writing anything as all that needs to said has been said. We are going to have the usual arguments and counter-arguments. Time to look past such events and get on with our daily struggles.
And we thought that India will not attack Pak after DGMO's meeting...Pak should respond strongly to India
In Indian newspapers I read that the Pakistani civilian had intruded upto 200 m into the Indian side of LOC while collecting firewood. Indian troops in dense fog noticed some movement on sensors and they suspected Pakistani militant infiltration and hence they fired a few rounds, injuring the Pakistani civilian with a bullet wound on his hand.
