MULTAN: “The Sasta Bazaar scheme remains the most effective way to control overpricing and inflation in the province,” Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema said on Saturday. He was talking to the media during a visit along with Punjab Police Inspector General Khan Baig to review the sasta bazaars in Multan. Cheema said complaints cells had been set up in all districts. “We plan to check quality of commodities available at these bazaars… strict action will be taken against hoarders and black marketers.” He directed the district government officials to continue fining shopkeepers refusing to sell commodities at the fixed prices. He said the provincial government had suspended the system of auctions at vegetable and fruit markets.
