Operation continues: Three suspected TTP men killed in Mauripur encounter

Three suspected members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed on Friday in an alleged police encounter within Mauripur police station limits.


The deceased were identified as, Mirza Ali, the TTP ameer for Ittehad Town, Sher Muhammad, the TTP ameer of the Landhi Town, and Amanullah.

While on patrol, the police crossed Scheme 42 near Musharraf Colony at around 12:30pm, where the three terrorists were on a standing motorcycle. The terrorists opened fire when the policemen interrogated them. All three terrorists were killed when the police fired back.

“They are members of TTP,” a police official at Mauripur police station, Khan Muhammad, claimed. In the encounter the police mobile was damaged and no policeman was injured, he said.

The law enforcers recovered a motorcycle and weapons, including a hand grenade, Kalashnikov and a pistol.

Cracker blast at mosque

Three students of the mosque, located in Millat Town, were injured in a mysterious cracker attack at the roof of the mosque on Friday. The injured, Iqrar, Salauddin and Naseer, have been shifted to the hospital. All three are under police custody. According to police officials, the injured were busy cleaning the rooftop when the attack happened.

ANP leader attacked

Unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade at the house of Aziz Khan, the labour leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), in Future Colony, Sharafi Goth on Friday morning.

Khan was injured in the attack while the gate and wall of the house was partially damaged. Khan was shifted to Jinnah hospital. The ANP leadership has asked the  government to provide security to its party leaders. ANP’s provincial leader Bashir Jan said that Khan was under threat.
