PESHAWAR:

Out of every 10 lady constables, one will be promoted to head constable and in every 30, one will be promoted to assistant sub-inspector. This was decided at a meeting of the newly-established Police Policy Board, a think tank of the department, on Friday to promote the participation of women in the police force. After reaching the rank of ASI, their promotions would proceed normally.

The policy board met at the Central Police Office and reviewed the performance of the police force. The meeting was presided over by IGP Nasir Khan Durrani.

While discussing different issues, the board decided that technical staff, executive police, minister’s staff and legal staff along with the IT staff will not be allowed to change their cadre within the force without clearing an exam.

It was also decided that every constable and newly-promoted ASI would have to serve in the Elite Force for a year to be promoted to the next rank.
