FAISALABAD:

A man allegedly caught in an attempted robbery on Thursday was beaten up by citizens. His accomplices managed to escape.

Samanabad police said three robbers on motorcycles had arrived at Ahmad Medical Store in Nisar Colony and hit the store owner Shah Nawaz with a pistol for resisting robbery. On hearing Nawaz shout, a number of people rushed to the spot and overpowered one of the robbers. The crowd beat up the man until he fainted. He was then tied to an electricity pole, the police informed. Nawaz was taken to a hospital and has been declared out of danger.
