Suicide bomber dead, another on the run

Two unidentified suicide bombers attacked a security forces checkpoint in Musazai Sharif, DI Khan, one of whom blew himself up during crossfire on Wednesday evening.

In the FIR lodged by Chaudwan Police Station SHO Sadiqullah, it is stated that at 5.20pm, two unidentified terrorists on a motorcycle opened fire at a blockade set up by security forces in Musazai Sharif. The security forces opened retaliatory fire, but one of the men blew himself up just after the other managed to escape the scene. No other casualty was reported in the incident, but a passenger bus going from DI Khan to Chaudwan at the time was slightly damaged.

The search for the escaped suicide bomber by Chaudwan police, Daraban police, elite force and security forces is continuing since the incident took place. Musazai Sharif is close to the border between the Frontier Region DI Khan and settled areas.

Law enforcement agencies have collected the remains of the deceased terrorist from the scene, along with the damaged motorcycle, as evidence. SHO Sadiqullah said further investigation is under way.
