The man has yet to learn how to dress up on such occasions. Education is lacking in most cricketers and Shahid Afridi is a n example. I am not impressed.
so what has army to do with any cricketer? In what capacity? They should focus on fighting the war people pay tax money for, instead of inviting cricketers over tea and photo shoots - It would have been better if the army chief was to visit grave of atizaz hasan and offer fatheah. he was no less than our courageous army.
For what its worth, I believe he'd be an even more successful politician than Imran Khan...
@Babar: Like Imran khan!!!! Is he going to be another pawn of isi to stir, this time, an earthquake in KP?
Afridi must have given some tips on how to 'chew' the bombs.
Almost all people making comments think they have the right to give their opinion in the form of oversmart statements on something they are neither professionaly trained to understand nor have no clue about. They think that the army leadership and the top sporting institutions of Pakistan are wrong and can learn something from their unqualified comments and jibes at distiguished achievers on their published life. It is quite a sick to see general public making meaningless big statements like they know better. Sad to see.
Shahid Khan Afridi is a character with popularity above any other in recent history of Pakistani cricket. His persona is such that if we say that Afridi is an all rounder it would be like saying Albert Einstein was a scientist - an understatement. Good on the COAS to have Afridi over, I like him already.
A career in politics in the offing
Ah yes, DHA's and now giving out shields to cricketers. And then ISPR lectures people on how the Army's sacrifices must be appreciated, while the Army chief is busy in photo ops.
@nasir, its really saddening to see musharraf. Above all, statements from his opposition is getting worse and bitter with time.
@ Afridi: you are great :)
A cricketer at GHQ. Is Afridi planning a post retirement political carrier under the army umbrella?
Zia flashbacks....
