Lyallpur FC shock HBL 1-0 in PPFL

Tauseef’s goal helps bottom-ranked team win fourth match of season.

KARACHI: Debutants Lyallpur FC stunned HBL 1-0 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) at the Faisal Town Ground in Lahore on Sunday.

Lyallpur FC, who were at the bottom of the table, contained HBL in the first half as both teams failed to score a goal despite several attempts. However, Lyallpur FC’s Muhammad Tauseef scored the winner in the 71st minute.

This was Lyallpur FC’s fourth win in the season after playing 23 matches. They were the weakest side in the competition, having lost 14 matches so far.

Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, NBP contained Navy in a goalless draw at the Model Town Football Ground.

With the result, NBP replaced HBL on the 11th place with 27 points, while Navy remained on eighth position with 31 points.

In today’s fixture, KESC will look to continue their lead in the competition when they play Afghan FC while Muslim FC will face PAF.
