Eid Miladun Nabi: Security plan chalked out

An elaborate security plan has been devised to maintain peace and cope with any incident across the province during Eid Miladun Nabi, which is due to be commemorated on January 14.

This was stated in a circular issued by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Secretary Syed Akhtar Ali Shah and sent to commissioners, deputy commissioners, regional police officers, and district police officers across the province. The officials were directed to deploy special police squads and commandoes to ensure all religious ceremonies are held peacefully.

The circular also stated that weapons display, provocative speeches and pillion riding will also be prohibited on the occasion, and violators will be dealt with strictly.

Shah appealed to ulema of all sects, public representatives, local leaders, traders and the general public to exhibit tolerance and maintain peace during the month.
